Why you should consider working in Colorado
/The world is a big place that is filled with opportunity. Because of advancements in technology and transportation our geographical location is limited only by our drive, desire, and ambition. In December of 2013, I was living outside of the United States with no burdens or specific loyalties to anywhere. I had developed several ways of earning an income that were not location specific. I knew that I wanted to move back to America, because the quality of life and culture available here, but the option of where was a baffling decision. I went through the demographics and advantages and disadvantages of each state and decided that Colorado was the place I would establish myself. This is what I discovered about this wonderful state:
- Colorado is home to the Worlds Greatest Amphitheatre
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is carved into a giant rock. It offers amazing acoustics in an absolutely breathtaking setting. Because Red Rocks is right outside of Denver, it attracts some of the best talent in the world, and accompanies almost every sunset with something worth seeing.
- Colorado has amazing living options
Housing prices in Colorado are extremely affordable. You will be hard pressed to find a city with better culture and more affordable housing. Denver itself offers one of the nations greatest concentrations of Victorian buildings and warehouses, most of which have been converted into lofts, office spaces, restaurants, and galleries.
- Colorado is filled with healthy active people
Colorado is ranked as the 5th most active state, the 2nd least obese, and right at the top in overall health. When surrounded by mountains and beautiful vistas, its almost impossible not to take more walks.
- Colorado has a positive social culture
After walking just about anywhere in the state, you very quickly notice that everywhere is very clean. Coloradans truly respect their environment and use social pressure to ensure it remains pristine. Nobody litters, and everyone cleans up after each other. Leave your trash around in Colorado and someone will give you a dirty look as they clean it up.
- Colorado holds a wide variety of cultures in one
Take the friendliness of the Midwest, the charm of the South, and the laid back nature of the West Coast, sprinkle in some New York style culture, and the intelligentsia of New England and you start to see what this place has to offer.
- It's always sunny in Colorado
With 300 days of beautiful sunshine and clear air, Colorado has absolutely beautiful climate. We still have all four seasons, each distinct in their own stunning beauty, but over all of it, the sun kisses Colorado all year long melting the snow in the cities while making it sparkle on the mountain tops.
I have only lived in this magical place since the beginning of this year, but I have already embraced it as my home. It is a mecca for the casual philosopher and cultural connoisseur, and above all the wonderful demographics Colorado has to offer, it's people are the most welcoming I have come across in my global travels.
