Mike founded Expedition Executive in 2015 after spending over a decade in executive recruitment industry. He worked his way up from running a desk at both startup and national firms and to Director level at one of the world's largest. Having worked in Denver, Southern California, and Australia, he was fortunate to gain experience with some of the world's best recruiters and also see the widening gap in recruitment between doing what's right by the talent community versus pushing recruiting metrics to meet an arbitrary internal quota, which was the origination of Expedition Executive Search; to do right by the talent community.
Born and raised in Denver, he obtained a cum laude Bachelor's degree in International Business with an emphasis in Finance from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Wendy and embracing all aspects of the Colorado lifestyle from skiing, snowboarding, camping, hiking, 4 wheeling, and swimming in his downtime.

James Nelson, Director of Southern California Operations

Jim brings over 12 years Executive Recruiting/Staffing experience with some of the largest national/international firms as wells as start-ups. With his experience along with his leadership he focused on training and development, employee and client relationships which earned him the privilege to lead some of the top producing offices in the nation.
Prior to joining Expedition Executive James spent over the last two years heading-up an Engineering, IT recruiting/staffing start-up. He oversaw all aspect of the operations for 3 offices in Orange County, Detroit and Boston. He successfully spearheaded the organization and it's team to produce exceptional results in all it's market places.
Born and raised third generation in Orange County, CA he has been able to grow an enormous business network throughout the nation. James and his wife Roxanne enjoy traveling the world with their two kids surfing, skiing and exploring our worlds history.
Wendy Zang, Creative and Operations Director, Partner
Denver- Office Administration and Graphic Design Recruitment
Wendy is brilliant at identifying the true cultural fit and seeing past what's on paper to make the perfect match. She has a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Columbia College with an accredited graphic design career starting at the Chicago Tribune in graphics then progressing to tradeshow and ad agencies. Identifying her love for sales and people, recruiting became a natural fit and is one of the best in the market getting the personality fit on point.
Wendy heads up our Office Administration division along with all marketing, website, and logo design for Expedition Executive.
When she's not working, you'll find this Chicago native adamantly supporting her Cubs and Bears when she's not on the ski slopes, camping or spending time with her loved ones.
